MR. MOON C 2008 Marsh Brodeur

Mr. Moon
Shining bright on my lagoon
Oh yellow moonbeam
Tell me this is not a dream
Please don’t let this be a dream

Mr. Moon
I’ve been on this beach all afternoon
Started drinking maitai’s
Maybe for a moment I closed my eyes
I can’t remember if I closed my eyes

But this I know
She and I were basking in the afterglow
Of a sunset supreme
Please don’t let this be a dream
Tell me this is not a dream

Here in the sand
The kind of day I never could have planned
Lips so soft, skin like cream
Tell me this is not a dream
Please don’t let this be a dream

We laughed and drank our maitais
We cuddled up and listened to the seagull cries
As you shined down from above
Wrapped in my blanket we made love
Such a sweet and salty love

But then it all gets hazy
Maybe I slept, maybe I’m going crazy
When I awoke there was no one there
It’s like she vanished right into thin air
I look around and now there’s no one there

What’s that my cell phone?
Text message: sender unknown
It says I’ll be right back
I just went out to get us both a snack
Miss you already and I’ll be right back

Hey Mr. Moon
She misses me and she’ll be here soon
Do you know what this means
This is really not a dream
She is real and not some dream

You big beautiful moon
I’m gonna need you bright and shiny soon
Give us your bestest moonbeam
Cuz this is so much better than a dream
Who needs some dumb old sleepy dream
So much better than a dream
