Nevada Blue ©2007                                                                         Marsh Brodeur

The hazy moon begins to rise here in New England
While back at home the sun’s still shining like brand new

Sittin’ out here on this beach where
I’m watching a moon that should not be there.
And neither should I and I wonder why
Cuz I am So Nevada Blue.
An baby I miss you.

I was chasing the dollar, when I came out to New England
Driving a hauler, the one thing I still know how to do.

But lately I’m believing.
There ain’t one good reason I shouldn’t be leaving
And just say goodbye, cuz I miss that cloudless sky.
That deep Nevada Blue,
And baby I miss you.

Every night in my hotel room before I call you,
I practice my happy voice, so you won’t know just how bad I feel.
Cuz after all it was you honey,
who said there ain’t ever gonna be enough damn money
to make it okay, for you to be away from me. Now I see.

And it’s midnight. I look at the phone.
It’s only 9:00 in our Carson City home.
So I pick up and dial, your face brings a smile to my heart.

And even though I try to be strong, about ten seconds in your asking me “what’s wrong”
I try not to cry telling you why
I’m so Nevada Blue.
Baby how I miss you. Oh Nevada Blue
I’m coming back to you
I’m coming back to you
